Bonnie

Bonnie at 4 months old
Little Bonnie just turned a year old on 12/5/2000 she earned her CGC at seven months of age and will begin training to be a therapy dog early this spring. She is a friendly, happy dog who is full of life. She is a true success story!
Bonnie needed extra love from the beginning. She was tiny and weak - only half the size of her littermates. Her breeder lovingly nursed her through the first difficult weeks, bottle feeding her and taking her to work every day so she wouldn't have to fight her two brothers for a full meal. When she was two weeks old, she still had not opened her eyes, though her littermates had. She was taken to the vet, who explained that the puppy had been born without any eyes at all! Luckily for Bonnie, her kind breeder
decided the puppy deserved a chance at a good home.
My two dear collies had recently passed away when I first heard about Bonnie. I was not planning on getting another dog, especially another collie! However, the thought of the tiny blind puppy tugged at my thoughts. I made arrangements to adopt her.
Bonnie is a wonderful, outgoing, personable dog - she loves people and will begin training to be a thearpy dog this spring. She's graduated Puppy and Intermediate training classes with flying colors, and we have plans to enter Novice soon. Bonnie enjoys playing tug with her buddy Tyler the Lhasa Apso. She is an avid swimmer, backpacker, and all around great dog!
