The "Owners of Blinddogs" (blinddogs e-mail list) awards websites
which fit the following criteria:

1.How useful is this website to the general public
and owners of "special needs" visually impaired pets?

2. How much and how accurate is the material on this site?

3. Is this site unique in some way, and does it use the
Internet in a way that helps promote the welfare of blind dogs,
education or help blind/visually impaired dogs?

Websites may be nominated by sending an e-mail to Blinddogs Admin with the URL and a brief explanation of why you feel a particular website is deserving of this award. We will review all nominations, as well as doing some web surfing of our own, and award winners will be notified (so they can have a copy of our award on their site), and winners will also be listed here, with a link to their website.

The Veterinary Ophthalmology
Information Centre and Message Board are valuable tools for anyone who has a pet with an eye problem. Many different eye conditions are covered, with excellent information presented in a way that lay people can understand.

This is the first-ever resource book and training  guide for the owners of blind & low vision dogs. This book embodies helpful hints from dozens of  blind-dog owners around the world, as well as years of ophthalmic nursing, ophthalmic veterinary, and dog-training experiences.

Not only does MOBD have photos of many, many blind dogs who are living happy, productive lives, but also an excellent links page listing many sites with more help and information on eye problems, blind pets, pets with disabilities, and stories of blind dogs and their owners, who have successfully overcome their disability.

A website dedicated to "helping people to help pets". Lots helpful links and information for blind pets, diabetic pets, etc., and wonderful pictures! Also Vet and Ophthalmologists info provided by patients who use them. Another excellent resource for "Special Needs" animals.

Among other things, Dave has invented a "Hoop & Harness" for blinddogs to give them more confidence and keep them from injuring themselves. And you'll love his models, Pepe & Bruce, and also his sense of humor. He has improved the lives of blind dogs as well as their owners!
Robin's Lhasa Apso Rachel has encountered a series of health problems since 1997 including blindness due to SARDS, cancer, hypothyroid and degenerating spinal disks. 
She has put together pages relating to Rachel's assorted illnesses.
Susan Flewelling's started the Muffin E-mail list for pets with diabetes in January of 1997, which has been a life-saver for many. Her dog Muffin was diagnosed with diabetes in August of 1992 and Muffin went to the Rainbow Bridge in December of 1995.
Judy has her own diabetic dog, Queenie, and her Queenie & Muffin website is full of information for owners of diabetic pets, and is support for the Rainbow Pet Diabetes E-mail list. An excellent resource for owners of diabetic dogs or cats.
